Gjøvik og Toten slektshistorielag is the genealogical society for the municipals Gjøvik, Vestre Toten and Østre Toten in Oppland county.  We are a part of Vestoppland slektshistorielag. You can contact us here.

These pages mainly contain transcriptions of original genealogy sources and links to other transcriptions on the WWW related to Gjøvik and Toten. We also have some material for the Land and Gran regions. 

The type of material is mainly censuses, cemetery records, church records and information about emigrants. For the moment our material comprises approximately 160.000 records (May 2001). Here is a list of sources being transcribed (in Norwegian).

A lot of pages are bi-lingual or have an English and Norwegian version, exceptions are most of the pages used for searching the databases (but you should be able to use them), the list of homepages, the list of links, the info about local libraries/archives, pages with articles, and lists of sources in the Land and Gran areas.
